Albany Dermatology will continue to provide essential dermatologic medical and surgical services. These services comply with Governor Cuomo’s “New York on PAUSE” executive order and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, NYS Department of Health and World Health Organization. As the COVID-19 and its impact continue to evolve and develop in the Capital Region, we remain focused on the health and safety of our patients and employees.
If you have recently traveled or have been in close proximity to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, please call your local health department for further instructions.
Anyone experiencing symptoms – fever with cough and/or shortness of breath – please stay home and call your primary care physician/office for advice on your symptoms.
If you are experiencing the above symptoms, rescheduling your appointment and staying home will help prevent COVID-19 from spreading in the community. Please call the office at 518-482-8631 with questions about keeping/rescheduling of an appointment.
We all must follow prevention guidelines established by the CDC and NYS Department of Health that include social distancing, regular hand washing, and covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. Please be assured that we are taking necessary steps to disinfect high contact areas and treatment spaces throughout our office.
Routine Appointments: We have begun contacting patients scheduled for the upcoming week for routine appointments to arrange telehealth services. This option will allow us to provide care to patients while in the safety of their homes. Elective procedures will be rescheduled.
Nonroutine Appointments: We ask that patients check in via cell phone upon arrival in the parking lot and wait in their car. We will notify you at that cell number when your provider is available. If you arrive with a companion, we ask that the companion wait in the car unless they are needed to assist you.
Effective March 23, 2020 patients will be screened upon arrival by taking temperatures, confirming any recent travel, noting presence of flu-like symptoms (cough, fever, sore throat and/or shortness of breath), and if had contact with possible COVID-19 individuals. Appointments for patients deemed to be at risk will be rescheduled.
The AD Patient Portal, on our website, is available to facilitate patient inquiries related to prescription refills and medical/billing concerns. Please call the office at 518-482-8631 if you need assistance in accessing this service.
This is a fluid situation and the above Guidelines and Protocols will be updated as necessary. We will keep you informed.
