For established patients, every attempt will be made to see you that day if you have pain or experience an emergency situation. For new patients, we will do our best to accommodate you as soon as possible but also maintain a waiting list that allows us to offer more immediate substitute appointments whenever a cancellation occurs.
We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your office wait time. Due to the fact that Albany Dermatology provides many types of services, various circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for a procedure. Emergency cases can also arise and cause delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Albany Dermatology makes every effort to provide you with the finest care and the most convenient financial options. To accomplish this we work hand-in-hand with you to maximize your insurance reimbursement for covered procedures. If you have any problems or questions, please ask our staff. Please bring your insurance information and any referrals that your insurance may require at the time of your appointment so that we can expedite reimbursement. If you do not have this information, we will reschedule your appointment to a time when the information is available, which avoids the need for full payment at the time of service.
Albany Dermatology is not responsible for obtaining your referral(s) from your doctor(s). If there is a question regarding a referral, please ask us about it when you make your appointment or at the time you arrive.
Prescriptions will be called in to your pharmacy within 24 hours. However, since your chart must be reviewed prior to call in, renewals will not be made to pharmacies after hours or on weekends.
If it has been more than a year since you last saw Dr. Shoss, you will need to call the office to schedule an appointment.
NO SHOW FOR APPOINTMENTS
We do ask that our patients contact our office if they are unable to make their scheduled appointment so that we may open up that time for another patient.
FOR ESTABLISHED PATIENTS: If you have missed three appointments and did not call to cancel these appointments in advance we cannot schedule another appointment for you. Please call the office to make arrangements for alternate dermatology care.
FOR NEW PATIENTS: If you have missed two initial appointments and do not call to cancel these appointments in advance, we cannot schedule another appointment for you.
We deliver the finest care at the most reasonable cost to our patients, therefore payment is due at the time service is rendered. If you have questions regarding your account, please contact us at (518) 482-8631. Many times, a simple telephone call will clear any misunderstandings.
We will send you a monthly statement. Most insurance companies will respond within four to six weeks. Please call our office if your statement does not reflect your insurance payment within that time frame. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid is your responsibility. Your prompt remittance is appreciated.

Copays are due at the time of service. A $10 surcharge will be added if your copay is not paid at that time.
The deposit will be forfeited for any No-Show Cosmetic/Esthetic appointment.
A $25 fee will be applied for returned checks.
